The latest two-link DT-BTR, created for the natural and climatic conditions of the Arctic, Siberia and the Far East, was shown for the first time in the program" Sentinel " on the First Channel of Russian television.
The tracked snow-and-mud vehicle is undergoing various tests at the 38th Research Institute of Armored Weapons and Equipment of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation near Moscow. In particular, they demonstrated footage of its detonation and checking how much it can protect the crew when the enemy uses napalm. The armored personnel carrier successfully passed all these tests.
The DT-BTR was previously presented only in the form of a reduced layout at the International Military-technical Forums "Army".
The combat vehicle can carry a motorized rifle squad of nine people, the landing party is located in the second link, three more crew members are in the first.
Combat weight - 25,000 kg. The engine power is 500 hp. The maximum speed reaches 60 km/h. It is possible to force water obstacles by swimming. The all-terrain vehicle can overcome ditches up to 2.7 m wide and a vertical wall one meter high.
Previously, options were presented that had as weapons a 12.7 mm "Cord" or a combat compartment of the same type as on the original version of the Kurganets-25 and Boomerang BMP.
The sample shown in the transfer is equipped with an already uninhabited module developed in the Nizhny Novgorod JSC "Central Research Institute "Burevestnik" with a 30-mm 2A42 automatic cannon and a 7.62-mm 6P7K machine gun.
