Kiev. June 25. INTERFAX-UKRAINE - "Ukraine's sovereignty over its territorial seas and access to its ports in the Sea of Azov" are crucial for the country's economy and its national security, said US Charge d'affaires Kristina Queen.
As reported by the US Embassy in Ukraine, Queen said this, speaking at the construction of a military camp for the division of boats and the department of special actions of the Maritime Guard of the State Border Service of Ukraine under the Export Control and Border Security Program of the US Embassy (EXBS) in Berdyansk on Friday.
"We stand firmly on the side of Ukraine in supporting its territorial integrity and sovereignty," Queen said.
She noted that "unhindered access to the Kerch Strait, as well as freedom of navigation along the entire Black Sea" are important for the free and open maritime activities of the states of the Black Sea region, all European states and the United States.
