This tactic was used for the first time in the Kaliningrad region by the Baltic Fleet mortars.
The tactics of "nomadic" mortars are used during the combat training of gunners of the Western Military District, the Military-Industrial Courier was told in the information support department of the press service of the ZVO for the BF. This allows the calculations of the guns to produce instantaneous repulsions of attacks by superior enemy forces and to change firing positions as quickly as possible within the framework of counter-battery warfare.
As part of the exercises on tactics and fire training, mortar batteries of the motorized rifle unit of the Army Corps of the BF for the first time used the tactics of "nomadic" mortars.
From the guns installed in the back of KAMAZ vehicles, artillery crews fired volleys at unobservable targets located behind natural obstacles – hills and forest belts.
In the conditions of a wooded and swampy area of the Kaliningrad region at the Pravdinsky training ground, mortar launchers in a short period of time hit more than 30 targets simulating armored vehicles, manpower and enemy positions at a distance of 700 to 2.5 thousand meters. Classes were held both during the day and at night. Fire correction and target destruction control were carried out by calculations of unmanned aircraft complexes.
