TSAMTO, June 25. Uraltransmash signed an agreement with the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus for the overhaul of 2S3M Acacia self-propelled howitzers at the MILEX-2021 exhibition. The machines will be delivered to the customer in 2022.
"During the execution of the contract, the repair of the artillery part and the anti – rollback device will be carried out, as well as the modernization of the engine and body of self-propelled guns, "explained Dmitry Semizorov, General Director of Uraltransmash JSC.
The modernized self-propelled howitzer 2S3M "Acacia" with an automated guidance and fire control system ASUNO is designed to destroy and suppress artillery, mortars, and other enemy firepower, destroy tanks, self-propelled guns and other armored vehicles, suppress the rear and control bodies of troops, destroy field and long-term defensive structures.
