Ekaterinburg. June 25. INTERFAX-Delivery of more than 30 new and modernized radar stations is planned to the radio engineering troops of the Central Military District (CVO) by the end of the year, the press service of the CVO reported on Friday.
"The radio engineering troops of the Central Military District will receive altimeters and radar stations "Sky" and "Niobium", capable of detecting, tracking, recognizing and measuring the coordinates of large - sized and inconspicuous air targets operating at a distance of up to 600 km, an altitude of up to 50 km and a speed of more than 3 thousand km/h," the message says.
The arrival of radar equipment will expand the coverage area of the protected airspace and reduce the lower limit of detection of aircraft, the CVO notes.
