More than 600 military signalmen of the Guards Tank Red Banner Army of the Western Military District were raised on a training alert in preparation for the strategic Russian-Belarusian exercises "West-2021". This was reported to journalists on Thursday in the press service of the district.
According to the verification scenario, the brigade was brought to an increased degree of combat readiness, the personnel received weapons, and the equipment was removed from temporary storage. "After performing combat readiness actions, the equipment moved to the deployment area of the communication center to organize secure communication channels," the press service said.
At the upcoming Zapad-2021 exercises, the brigade will provide communication on closed and open channels for all units involved in the maneuvers on an area of more than 1,000 square kilometers. "The power of the technical means of the brigade allows you to catch your own signal by circumnavigating the Globe," the district noted.
More than 600 servicemen and more than 200 units of weapons, military and special equipment were involved in the combat readiness check.
