TSAMTO, June 24. On the opening day of the 10th International Exhibition MILEX-2021 held in Minsk, the first official demonstration of the prototype of the MZKT-690003 armored personnel carrier (Volat V-2) with an 8x8 wheel formula developed by the Belarusian JSC MZKT took place.
The MZKT-690003 is the first armored combat vehicle with an 8x8 wheel formula created in the Republic of Belarus. It is designed to transfer a unit to the place of combat operations, provide fire support in combat, destroy manpower, anti-tank weapons, lightly armored enemy equipment, as well as low-speed air targets. The total weight of the BTR is 22 tons. The armored personnel carrier has an all-welded armored body with a ramp for landing / disembarking troops in the aft part. The crew of the armored personnel carrier is 3 people (driver, commander, gunner). The landing compartment located in the aft part accommodates 8 people of the landing party.
The armored personnel carrier is equipped with a Weichai WP 13/550 diesel inline six-cylinder engine with a capacity of 550 hp, assembled by the MAZ-Weichai joint venture, an automatic transmission MZKT-55613 and develops a maximum speed of 110 km/h on the highway. Suspension – independent, single-lever, hydropneumatic. Two fuel tanks with a capacity of 200 liters each provide a power reserve of 1200 km. The APC is equipped with wheels with tubeless tires of the Run-Flat type of dimension 14. 00R20, which provide the ability to continue driving at a speed of up to 20 km/h if damaged. The BBM is capable of overcoming water obstacles at a speed of 10 km / h, using two water-jet propellers located in the aft part. The ballistic protection of MZKT-690003 meets the requirements for the Br4 class according to GOST 34282-2017, mine protection meets the requirements of STANAG-4569 Level.2a/2b. It is stated that it is possible to increase the level of protection by installing a set of mounted armor.
The prototype on display at the exhibition is armed with a standard BMP-2 turret with a 30-mm 2A42 automatic cannon, a 7.62-mm PKT machine gun paired with it and a Konkurs anti-tank guided missile launcher. The tower is equipped with modernized optical-electronic monitoring devices manufactured by JSC "Peleng". It is possible to install other weapons systems, including remote-controlled ones.
The car is also equipped with energy-absorbing seats, an auxiliary power plant, a central tire pumping system, an on-board information and control system( BIUS), a filter ventilation system, fire extinguishing and smoke removal systems, a winch for self-pulling.
The weight and size characteristics of the machine allow it to be transported by VTA Il-76, An-124, An-22, A400M, C-5, C-17 aircraft.
