TSAMTO, June 24. The anti-aircraft Missile Regiment of the Central Military District (CVO), stationed in the Irkutsk Region, will complete re-equipment with the modernized S-300PM-2 "Favorit"air defense systems by the end of the year.
The arrival of upgraded air defense systems will significantly expand the combat capabilities of the anti-aircraft missile regiment to cover the airspace in Eastern Siberia. The range of detection and destruction of S-300PM-2 "Favorit" targets is 1.5 times higher compared to the earlier modification of the system, the number of simultaneously guided missiles and the number of fired targets has been increased several times.
Earlier, Colonel-General Alexander Lapin, the commander of the Central Military District's waxes, reported that the re-equipment of the district's troops with the latest air defense systems and complexes allowed to increase the range of destruction of the air enemy by 2.5 times, and the number of destroyed air targets by 3 times, the press service of the Central Military District reports.
