On June 17, Andrey Pokhodaev, Senior Managing Director for Investment Activities of RUSNANO Management Company, took part in the session "Technologies and Innovations for Sustainable Development" of the Forbes conference "Sustainable Development. Profitably together."
The experts of the session discussed issues of supporting the development of innovations and new green sectors of the economy from the point of view of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. The discussion was moderated by Oksana Kosachenko, President of the Sistema Charitable Foundation.
In his speech, Andrey Pokhodaev noted that he considers the creation of five clusters for the production of "green" hydrogen in the country promising:
- Western Cluster (Leningrad Region)
- North-West (Murmansk region)
- Vostochny (Kamchatka/Sakhalin)
- Yuzhny (Krasnodar Territory)
- Severny (Yamal)
In all these regions, there is a high wind potential and a port infrastructure that will ensure the transportation of the produced hydrogen to the target markets in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. According to Pokhodaev, today "green" hydrogen energy is considered "as a key element of decarbonization of the future".
In particular, Pokhodaev said that RUSNANO, together with Enel, are planning to implement a pilot project to create a production of "green" hydrogen in the Murmansk region.
In general, according toAccording to the Energy Strategy of the Russian Federation until 2035, the export of Russian hydrogen should amount to 200 thousand tons in 2024 and 2 million tons in 2035.
