Uralvagonzavod is working on the modernization of the Soviet fleet of armored vehicles of the Armed Forces of Belarus. This is reported by RIA Novosti from the fields of the international arms exhibition MILEX-202 in Minsk.
Today, the republic is armed with about 532 T-72 tanks in various modifications, as well as 70 T-80B tanks are in storage.
"Belarus is a long-standing strategic partner of UVZ: the company takes part in MILEX for the sixth time, each time presenting its best samples of special equipment," the press service of the Nizhny Tagil plant noted.
So, at the current exhibition, Uraltsy demonstrates the T-14 tank on the Armata platform, a fundamentally new and completely Russian development, and a universal armored engineering vehicle.
"The universal armored engineering vehicle has the functionality of three-armored repair and evacuation, barrier engineering equipment and an armored mine clearance vehicle. UBIM is able to ensure the advance of troops and the performance of engineering work directly on the contact line with the enemy, including in a radioactively infected area, " the plant explained.
In the form of models, a tank support combat vehicle was brought to Minsk, as well as T-90MS, T-90S and an upgraded T-72, which have already proven themselves highly during operation.
