NOVOSIBIRSK, June 22. /TASS/. Novosibirsk State University (NSU), Roscosmos and Roshydromet will launch satellites created at the university to monitor "space weather" - phenomena in near-Earth space. This was reported by the press service of the NSU.
"Novosibirsk State University has signed a long-term partnership agreement with the State Corporation Roscosmos and the Russian Federal Service for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring. The cooperation involves equipping small CubeSat spacecraft created in the Department of Aerospace Research (OAI) NSU, equipment for monitoring heliogeophysical parameters in low Earth orbits (monitoring of "space weather"). Such devices will be launched into orbit within the framework of the Roscosmos "UniverSat" program, " the report says.
It is noted that the cooperation began with the launch of the NORBY satellite CubeSat 6U for Roshydromet, which took place in September 2020 as part of the UniverSat program. For 9 months, the spacecraft has been performing all its tasks in orbit in normal mode. In 2021, another similar device will be launched -"NORBY-2".
Novosibirsk State University was established in 1959 in Akademgorodok.
