Moscow. June 22. INTERFAX-Sevmash specialists have completed the modernization of Indian shipyards for the repair and maintenance of the aircraft carrier Vikramaditya, according to the company's annual report for 2020.
"All the necessary work has been completed to retrofit the shipyards of the foreign customer with weapons system repair shops to ensure the repair and maintenance of the weapons systems of the Project 11430 ship, etc.," the document says.
The report also notes that in 2020, Sevmash " completed all the volumes of work stipulated by the contracts for technical assistance in the operation of the equipment and systems of the project 11430 ship, the supply of spare parts, tools and accessories."
In January, the head of the company, Mikhail Budnichenko, said that Sevmash fulfills " contracts for the maintenance of the aircraft carrier Vikramaditya."
In July 2019, the head of Rosoboronexport, Alexander Mikheev, said that planned repairs of the aircraft carrier and modernization of its individual systems and complexes were planned for 2020.
Vikramaditya is the only aircraft carrier in the Indian Navy and the flagship of the fleet. The aircraft carrier is built on the basis of the heavy aircraft carrier "Admiral Gorshkov" by deep modernization. Its reconstruction was carried out by the Northern Machine-Building Enterprise in Severodvinsk. On 16 November 2013, the ship was transferred to the Indian Navy.
