Russian specialists have developed a spacecraft for collecting nanoscale objects located in the vicinity of Lagrange points.
The device was created by specialists of the Ryazan State Radio Engineering University. It is a small-sized binary research spacecraft that will search for extraterrestrial objects.
The place of its work should be cosmic dust structures located in the vicinity of Lagrange points. The development is equipped with a tape that has solar panels and microcontainers. High-voltage busbars will be installed at the top and bottom, creating an electric field and attracting nanoobjects.
When the assembly of materials is completed, the solar array will be rolled up, and the objects themselves will be sent to Earth for study. The tightness of the microcontainers is ensured by sealing with special films: this should prevent the ingress of earth particles there.
