Russia can help Turkey build a spaceport and create a rocket engine, RIA Novosti reports the statement of the head of the National Space Agency of Turkey, Serdar Hussein Yildirim.
"We could cooperate with Russia in many areas, on the cosmodrome, on rocket engines. We discussed the possibility of Russia's assistance in the creation of our cosmodrome. They have a lot of experience in this matter, both the launch tables and the spaceports themselves, " the head said.
According to him, concrete work on the spaceport can begin in a year, when Ankara will decide on a place for its construction and the countries with which it plans to cooperate in this area. It is expected that the launch site will be located in one of the equatorial states.
In March 2018, Mykola Kulinich, serving as the Ambassador of Ukraine to Australia, said that the State Space Agency of Ukraine is ready to build a spaceport in the north-west of Australia.
