An innovative scheme for providing troops during the transition from peacetime to wartime has been developed, said Deputy Defense Minister Tatyana Shevtsova.

The new system of financing the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in wartime will be developed for the first time during the joint Russian-Belarusian strategic exercises "West-2021", which will be held on the territory of the two countries in September. This was reported to journalists by the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Tatyana Shevtsova during a working trip to Belarus.
According to her, the nature of modern wars is significantly different from the geographical wars of the past and has a geopolitical, informational and hybrid type. In this regard, together with the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Finance, the National Defense Management Center, the Federal Treasury and the Bank of Russia, documents were developed on the specifics of the financial support of the Russian army in wartime, she said.
"As a result, a completely new, innovative scheme of financial support for the troops (forces) during the transition from peacetime to wartime was developed. It will allow the financial authorities in wartime to ensure uninterrupted financial support for the troops (forces) in various conditions of the situation, including in the absence of stable communication channels, power outages, using only the national payment system," the Deputy minister said.
"For the first time in full scale, this system is planned to be tested in the framework of the strategic exercises" West", - said Shevtsova.
The strategic command and staff exercises "West-2021" will be held from 10 to 16 September. The readiness of the armed forces of the two countries to defend the Union State will be checked. The "West" will be preceded by a set of special exercises on types of support with the transition of troops to practical actions. The Zapad maneuvers are planned, conducted by the decision of the presidents of Russia and Belarus, and are exclusively defensive in nature.
