The new equipment increases the target detection range and the accuracy of the defeat
MOSCOW, June 17. /TASS/. The new torpedo homing equipment, which increases the target detection range and accuracy of destruction, has passed qualification tests in Russia. This was reported on Thursday by TASS in the press service of the concern "Techmash "(part of the management circuit of the holding "Technodinamika" Rostec).
"Electronic equipment for torpedo homing systems has successfully passed qualification tests. It can be used for completing torpedoes of various calibers designed to work on underwater and surface targets. The developers have provided an increase in the target detection range and increased the probability of its defeat, "the press service quotes the words of the executive director of the concern" Techmash " Alexander Kochkin.
According to him, today this development exceeds the existing domestic and foreign analogues in its main parameters.
The developer of the new homing equipment is the Novosibirsk Research Institute of Electronic Devices (NIIEP, part of the State Corporation "Rostec"). The product is characterized by smaller dimensions, lower energy consumption and reduced cost.
NIIEP is a leading Russian enterprise for the creation of near-range location systems in the range of electromagnetic waves from decimeter to optical, as well as on - board computers and automation for various weapons systems and military equipment-from weapons of mass destruction to high-precision missile and torpedo weapons. The company has developed and manufactured non-contact detonation systems for various missile systems, including S-300, Tor, Kinzhal, Iskander-M, Grad, Smerch, Tornado, and others.
