General Director of the company Dmitry Loskutov noted that the current contracts of Glavkosmos for commercial launches do not imply a change in the design of the Soyuz rocket"
ST. PETERSBURG, June 17. /TASS/. The current contracts of Glavkosmos (part of Roscosmos) for commercial launches do not imply a change in the design of the Soyuz rocket, but such a service can be available to the customer for a fee. This was announced by TASS CEO Dmitry Loskutov on the sidelines of the Global Conference on Space Exploration (GLEX).
"Any changes on the launch vehicle can only be made by its manufacturer, that is, the Progress RCC. And this service is paid for the customer. The current contracts of Glavkosmos JSC do not yet imply a change in the color of launch vehicles," Loskutov said.
As the general director of the company specified, the change in the livery of the rocket depends on the wishes of the customer. "If the client wants to change the color scheme, we are, of course, ready to meet their wishes," he explained.
In March of this year, the design of the Soyuz-2 launch vehicle was changed for the first time. The rocket for the launch of 38 spacecraft was painted in a white-blue color scheme instead of the standard gray-orange color combination. The design change is a reference to the prototype of the Vostok launch vehicle installed on the territory of VDNH (Yuri Gagarin made the first space flight in the history of mankind on such a rocket) and the corporate colors of Glavkosmos Launch Services and Roscosmos.
