"The fact is that the CZ-2F launch vehicle was created back in the 90s [and is refueled according to the technologies of that time]. However, we use fuel components that meet current standards, " she said.
The designer recalled that China is creating more and more advanced models of missiles-CZ-5, CZ-5B, CZ-6, CZ-7 and CZ-8, for which much more environmentally friendly energy carriers are provided. "We are confident that the work on improving rocket fuel in China will continue in the future," Rong Yi concluded.
The first launch of the CZ-2F was carried out in 1999 and was successful. Then this launch vehicle delivered the Shenzhou-1 manned spacecraft to orbit without Taikonauts on board. In 2003, with its help, China sent its cosmonaut Yang Liwei to near - Earth space for the first time in history. On Thursday, the rocket was used to launch the Shenzhou-12 spacecraft with three astronauts on board.
