Alexander Kochkin, Executive Director of Techmash, noted that disposable grenade launchers are now being actively introduced to the world market
MOSCOW, June 15. /TASS/. Russia is among the leaders in the production of grenade launchers and ammunition for them on the international market, and also sets trends in the development of new products in this area. This was stated to journalists by the executive director of "Techmash" of the state corporation "Rostec" Alexander Kochkin.
"We have an advantage in the variety of combat units in the shots, their power and effectiveness. We are trying to compete in the international market with our new products, " explained the executive director of Techmash, noting that disposable grenade launchers are now being actively introduced to the world market.
According to Kochkin, today foreign countries are developing their own shots, for example, for the legendary RPG-7, but still follow Russian trends in this matter. "There are foreign producers, they have a slightly different legislation, they dump prices. But we are responsible for the reliability and quality of ammunition, we have always had it and it remains at a high level, " he said.
On June 15, 2021, the legendary RPG-7 grenade launcher turns 60 years old. Work on the anti-tank grenade launcher began in 1958. On June 15, 1961, an order was signed for its acceptance into service along with the PG-7B cumulative shot. Currently, this grenade launcher is used in more than 80 countries around the world. In addition, in many countries, mass production of both the grenade launcher itself and the shots for it is carried out. At one time, the Soviet Union transferred licensed production to a number of Warsaw Pact states.
