Camouflage
What many experts from different fields call "intuition" and "professional flair", it will soon be possible to develop through simple training from scratch. This conclusion was reached by experts from the Research Laboratory for the Development of combat Capabilities of the US Army. They were interested in the project of researchers from Augusta University (USA), who developed a method for recognizing camouflaged objects.
The research began in 2012 and led to the creation of a training program that lasts only two weeks, one hour per day. This method does not teach you how to work with specific types of camouflage or disguise, but trains a person's attention. As a result, the ability to instantly, in 0.05 seconds, recognize "wrong", strange elements in the image develops, which allows us to conclude that there is something hidden on it. And if there is such an understanding, then it becomes much easier to "see" through the camouflage.
Test
The method is based on the principles of "deep learning", a kind of machine learning, they are universal and do not require special abilities from users. That's what the military liked – in the conditions of modern war and electronic counteraction, it will no longer be possible to reset the image from digital binoculars to a remote server, so that a powerful AI there recognizes the details and promptly sends a response. Camouflage technology is now also on top, so the visual search for targets is again becoming an urgent task for soldiers.
