Moscow. June 14. INTERFAX-The deployment of the Iskander-M operational and tactical complexes and the destruction of a command post of a simulated enemy will be practiced by the Russian military during an exercise in the Kaliningrad Region, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
The exercise, which will take place on June 16 at the Pravdinsky training ground, will involve more than 100 servicemen and more than 25 units of weapons, military and special equipment of the separate missile brigade of the Army Corps of the Baltic Fleet of the Russian Federation, the report says.
"The servicemen will march to the area of the exercise, where they will work out the standards for deploying missile systems, taking firing positions and preparing for combat launches, as well as conduct training on reloading missiles from the transport-loading vehicle to the launcher. At the final stage, the calculations will perform electronic missile launches on targets simulating the command post of a simulated enemy at a distance of up to 100 km, " the military department said.
The rearmament of the missile brigade in the Kaliningrad region from Tochki-U to modern Iskander-M operational and tactical complexes was reported in May 2018.
"Iskander-M" was developed in the Kolomna Design Bureau of Mechanical Engineering (holding "High-precision Complexes"). In the version for the Russian army, the complex includes two types of missiles: ballistic and cruise. The range of the Iskander-M missiles was officially called - up to 500 km. It was reported that the missiles of the complex can carry a nuclear warhead. The complex is in service with the missile brigades of the Russian Land Forces.
