The device is intended for shooting the landing sites of Soviet lunar rovers and American astronauts on the Moon
MOSCOW, June 9. /TASS/. Igor Potashny, director of the Roscosmos research and Analytical Center, said during the presentation of a private lunar microsatellite that the state corporation will monitor the fate of the project.
A presentation of the lunar microsatellite is being held at the Moscow Planetarium. It is being developed by a group of space industry engineers and space enthusiasts. The device is intended for shooting the landing sites of Soviet lunar rovers and American astronauts on the Moon and for studying it.
"Of course, we will monitor this work. I think that our colleagues should not only keep us informed, but also come out with some kind of proposal, " Potashny said.
According to the director of the center, systematic studies of the Moon are now being prepared. "It probably makes sense to take into account the reserve of our colleagues, so that we can achieve results together," he said. Potashny said that Roscosmos ' interest in the Moon is constant, and work is currently underway to update the lunar program.
The director of the Roscosmos center also noted that a project for a commercial collective use center is being developed, which will allow private companies to access the test infrastructure on acceptable terms.
