The company " DOK " has announced the development of an ultra-broadband 10-Gigabit mobile communication system for self-driving cars. This system operates in the frequency range of 57-64 GHz and belongs to the V2X class (Vehicle to Everything, car to Everything), being one of its most promising options-a dedicated short-range wireless network DSRC (Dedicated Short-Range Communications).

The product name of the equipment is MobiBrifge 10G and this is the first Russian DSRC network project with an access speed of 10 Gbit / s. We are talking about a major technological breakthrough, since data transmission at a speed of 10 Gbit / s in full duplex mode is unattainable in the near future for either Wi-Fi, satellite communications or 5G.

The DSRC ultra-broadband network is needed for the sustainable and safe management of unmanned vehicles (UAS). In their onboard computers at the start of the route, you need to upload a large amount of data (it can be hundreds of gigabytes) and continue to maintain a constant and intensive data exchange between the vehicle and the reference network.

In addition to providing communication of unmanned vehicles with the reference network, MobiBrifge 10G equipment can be used to organize broadband Internet access in metro trains and high-speed trams, as a wireless connector for building a 10-gigabit network between train cars, for convenient Internet access for passengers of cruise ships, ferries and other water transport when parked at berths.

The achievement of Russian engineers was the implementation in a compact subscriber device of a whole set of functionality that is usually present in the main radio relay lines of the operator class. To automatically connect to the network and maintain the continuity of the connection when the vehicle is moving, each device is equipped with a built-in miniature phased array antenna (PHAR) with electronic beam scanning.

The DSRC project, which is carried out by the St. Petersburg company "DOK" in the 60 GHz band, has reached the stage of prototypes. Learn more about the characteristics The communication systems for MobiBridge 10G self-driving cars can be found in the product booklet.

Currently, the system is available for testing to companies-developers of unmanned vehicles, operators of the metro, high-speed trams, rail and water transport.
