The Kharkiv design bureau has been developing a new Ukrainian BMP-U since 2018. It is not known when the first prototype will be made, however, in order to somehow report on the work done, the creators of the combat vehicle decided to publish the tactical and technical characteristics.

For example, it is reported that the weight of a car with a normal level of protection will be 25,000 kg. If additional protection kits are installed, the weight may increase by another 5,000 kg.
If we talk about the size, the length will be 7.6 meters, the width on the side screens-3.4 meters, and the height-about 2.9 meters.
The crew, as on other equipment of a similar purpose, consists of three people, eight more infantrymen will be placed in the landing compartment.
The engine power is claimed to be 734 hp. However, there are no details about what it is. Whether it will be some version of the two-stroke engine produced in Kharkiv or, guided by a fashionable trend in Ukraine, they will buy a foreign engine, is unknown. The transmission is automatic, of foreign origin.
The maximum speed on the highway is 70 km / h. The fuel reserve is 600 km.
As weapons, it is expected to use a clone of the Russian 30-mm 2A42 cannon, one 7.62-mm machine gun and an automatic grenade launcher. To combat armored targets, the installation of a guided anti-tank missile system "Barrier"is provided.
The material posted on the "Ukrainian Militaristic Portal" is accompanied by photos of the BMP layout. Russian military experts noticed that its body strongly resembles the Chinese ZBD-04A. The main difference is that the module with the weapons of the infantry fighting vehicle from the Middle Kingdom is inhabited and it has been operated in the army for more than 15 years.
