MOSCOW, June 7. /TASS/. Rosoboronexport (part of the state corporation Rostec) signed contracts worth $ 1.7 billion with sub-Saharan Africa in 2020 and early 2021. This was reported on Monday in the press service of the company.
Rosoboronexport successfully continues to develop military-technical cooperation with the countries of sub-Saharan Africa, which received a powerful impetus during the Russia-Africa Forum in 2019. In 2020 and early 2021 alone, we signed more than $1.7 billion worth of contract documents in this region, bringing the number of countries in Central, Western and Southern Africa to 17 in the company's order portfolio," the press service quoted Rosoboronexport CEO Alexander Mikheev as saying.
According to him, the Russian company-special exporter promotes helicopter equipment, air defense equipment, naval products, armored vehicles, equipment for law enforcement agencies, airport security and critical facilities, small arms, including special weapons, to the region.

In addition, the partners will be provided with information about Russian anti-tank missile systems, including the Kornet-E and Kornet-EM ATGMs, 120-and 82-mm mortars, "Rosoboronexport noted.
During Shield Africa 2021, the Military-Industrial Company (MIC) will present for the first time in Africa the MIC-233316 Tiger vehicles in the Raid, MIC-39473 Strela and MIC-Ural configuration, Rosoboronexport added.
