Roscosmos CEO Dmitry Rogozin on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2021 answered a question from NTV presenter Aina Nikolaeva about the "correspondence controversy" with the head of SpaceX Elon Musk.
"This is a spiritual closeness, it can not be taken away. But as such, I do not see a polemic, we have complete agreement. We need to work, fly, master, so everyone is doing their own thing, " said the head of the state corporation.
In April 2020, Rogozin, during a remote meeting on the development of the rocket and space industry with Russian President Vladimir Putin , accused NASA and the American company SpaceX of dumping.
In response, Musk said that his missiles are reusable by 80 percent, and the Russian ones-by zero.
Musk's response came under a post by journalist Eric Berger, who pointed out that "neither the Russians nor the Europeans complained" when United Launch Alliance, SpaceX's main competitor in the US market, received much higher "subsidies" from the state. "But now that SpaceX has emerged with a commercial rocket much cheaper than its competitors, it's suddenly become completely unfair," the author writes.
