According to sources in the Ministry of Defense, the latest stealth missiles have been developed for the Russian Iskander complex, which will radically improve its combat qualities.
The creation of a new missile, with reference to sources in the military department , was reported by Izvestia. The product is extremely difficult to detect, and it can perform complex maneuvers on the trajectory, which further complicates interception. Another feature of the new rocket is its high accuracy. The target range reaches 500 kilometers.
For the first time, the novelty was used in exercises in 2020, and they began to create a rocket in 2016. "Most likely, the new munition is a further development of the 9M723 aeroballistic missile, which has been part of the Iskander-M complex for several years," said military observer Dmitry Kornev.
According to him, to reduce radar visibility, it was necessary to rework the shape of the hull, using new materials. The creators could change the management system: this follows from the statement of supermaneuverability.
Russian rocket scientist Valery Kashin announced information about the development of new missiles for the Iskander-M complex a few years ago. Now the complex can use five different ballistic missiles and two cruise missiles. Applying both at once, you can achieve almost complete impossibility of effective counteraction.
