The Head of the Russian Academy of Sciences recalled that during the Cold War in the last century, it was cooperation in science and in space science that significantly contributed to detente in relations with the United States. In particular, this is the docking of the Soviet Soyuz-19 spacecraft and the American Apollo spacecraft in 1975, and other experiments.
"Among the examples, I would like to mention the interaction that has recently taken place in the field of virology. Last year, the Russian Academy of Sciences signed a special agreement with the US National Academy of Sciences to exchange information on research in this area.
