The armed forces are involved in solving general civil issues. So, for the uninterrupted water supply of the population of the Crimea, the military laid a temporary water pipeline with a length of 32 kilometers. This was announced on Monday at a meeting of the board of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation by the head of the department Sergei Shoigu.
He specified that the creation of such a transport artery made it possible to lift the water blockade from the peninsula until the construction of the main water pipeline is completed.
In addition, Shoigu specified, when in a number of regions of Russia, due to severe frosts and heavy snowfalls, municipal water supply networks froze and transport links were disrupted, engineering and operational units of the Armed Forces delivered water to the civilian population and cleared roads from snow drifts.
