Russian helicopters were spotted in Libya during a rehearsal for a military parade of the national army in the city of Benghazi. The video is published by the Telegram channel "Military Observer".
In the video, a military Mi-24 helicopter of the Libyan National Army Air Force flies in close proximity over a column of tanks and military vehicles.
Libya owns three Mi-24 helicopters. As of 2018, the Russian attack helicopter was the second most common in the world after the AH-64 Apache and the first most common with a retractable landing gear. In Soviet times, the Mi-24 often performed interceptions of trespassers of the USSR border. Libya used the Mi-24 in the Chadian-Libyan conflict from 1978 to 1987.
Earlier it was reported that the Russian Mi-28NM combat helicopter will become a bomber, as it will be able to carry up to four long-range cruise missiles "product 305". The missiles will be placed on the external suspension points, and the maximum range of the new weapon will be 100 kilometers.
