Moscow. May 29. INTERFAX - Two Resurs-P Earth remote sensing satellites will be launched next year, said Valery Zaichko, deputy director of the Department of Navigation Space Systems of the state Corporation Roscosmos.
"This year, it is planned to launch Meteor-2.3, and in 2022 - two more Resources-P," Zaichko told the Russian Space magazine.
"In addition, it is planned to create "Canopus-VO" - a new generation of satellites. They will differ from their predecessors by a five-fold increased width of the viewing band, " Zaichko added.
According to him, Roscosmos also plans to develop the Arctic-M system. At the first stage, it will include two devices.
"Their joint use with the Electro-L geostationary satellites will allow us to solve the problem of almost continuous receipt of operational hydrometeorological data," he added.
The Resurs-P devices are designed to update maps, support the economic activities of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, Rosrybolovstvo, Roshydromet and other consumers, as well as to obtain information in the field of control and environmental protection.
The Electro-L device is designed to provide Roshydromet with operational information for analyzing and forecasting the weather, studying the state of the seas and oceans, monitoring the conditions for aviation flights, as well as studying the state of the ionosphere and the Earth's magnetic field.
The Arctic space hydrometeorological and climate monitoring system is designed to monitor the climate and environment in the Arctic region. The minimum required composition of the complex is two satellites. According to the NGO im. Lavochkina, two Arktika-M spacecraft as part of the system will provide round-the-clock all-weather monitoring of the Earth's surface and the seas of the Arctic Ocean.
