Tests of the IL-112B light transport aircraft are being completed, and two aircraft will be delivered by the end of 2021. This was stated on May 27 by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting with the leadership of the Ministry of Defense and representatives of the military-industrial complex (MIC).
"The state tests of the IL-112B light transport vehicle are being completed, and two such aircraft are planned to be delivered this year," the head of state said.
Prior to that, on March 30, the Rostec State Corporation showed a video of the second test flight of the IL-112B light military transport aircraft, built under a contract with the Russian Defense Ministry. The tests were conducted at the airfield of the Voronezh aircraft-building enterprise PJSC "VASO".
The aircraft was piloted by a crew consisting of the chief pilot of the Il ,test pilot of the 1st class of the Hero of Russia Nikolai Kuimov, test pilot of the 1st class Dmitry Komarov, flight engineer of the 1st class Nikolai Khludeev. The operating modes of the power plant, stability and controllability, and the operation of the main aircraft systems were checked.
The flight of the IL-112B lasted about 30 minutes and passed in normal mode. According to the crew commander, the flight mission was completed.
IL-112 can be used for commercial transportation, the car in the future will replace the fleet of AN-26, the service life of which is coming to an end.
On Tuesday, March 30, the IL-112B light military transport aircraft made its second flight two years after the first one. The turboprop aircraft is the first military transport aircraft developed in Russia from scratch in the post-Soviet period.
