The Igla man-portable air defense systems (MANPADS) units intercepted an unmanned "swarm" of a simulated enemy during the All-Army Field Training competition among the air defense units of the military air Defense named after Colonel General B. I. Dukhov.
During the next competition day, the anti-aircraft gunners of the Russian Armed Forces fired from a 7.62-mm PKT machine gun at a target simulating unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as from the Igla MANPADS at a suddenly appearing attack helicopter in motion and at a high-speed air target from a meeting point and in pursuit.
In total, more than 100 servicemen, consisting of 7 teams from military districts, Airborne troops, coastal troops of the Northern Fleet, as well as from the Military Academy of the Military Air Defense of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation named after Marshal of the Soviet Union A.M. Vasilevsky, take part in the competitions.
The team that demonstrated the best result will represent the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation at the international competition "Clear Sky" in early August at the Korla training ground in the People's Republic of China.
