LUHANSK, May 26-RIA Novosti. The People's Militia of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic recorded the operation of an electronic warfare station (EW) of Ukrainian security forces in the area of three Kiev-controlled settlements near the contact line in the Donbass, the press service of the LPR defense ministry told reporters.
Earlier, the LPR said that the Ukrainian security forces use electronic warfare to prevent the work of the drones of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) near the contact line in the Donbass, in order to hide the placement of weapons prohibited by the Minsk agreements.
He specified that the People's Militia units are constantly monitoring the enemy, strictly adhering to the terms of the truce, and are ready to respond promptly to changes in the situation on the orders of the command.
Earlier, additional measures to ensure the truce came into effect in the Donbas.
In April 2014, the Ukrainian authorities launched a military operation against the self-proclaimed LPR and DPR, which declared independence after the coup in Ukraine in February 2014. According to the latest UN data, the victims of the conflict were about 13 thousand people. The issue of resolving the situation in the Donbas is also being discussed during meetings of the Minsk contact group, which has already adopted three documents regulating steps to de-escalate the conflict since September 2014. However, even after the armistice agreements between the parties to the conflict, skirmishes continue.
