A tracked version of the PRP-5 mobile reconnaissance point has been created for the Russian Army. If earlier we saw the version on the chassis of the BTR-82 armored personnel carrier, now the platform was the BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicle, which has proven itself over many years of operation. "Troika" is already quite well known in the military, it has excellent mobility, can swim through water obstacles.
The PRP-5 was first shown at the military parade in Tula on May 9 of this year. And many military experts called it one of the sensations at this solemn event. Of course, I would like to see it at the International Military-Technical Forum "Army-2021".

Wheel version of the PRP-5
It is known that this armored vehicle will primarily serve for targeting missile and artillery systems of the ground forces. To do this, it was equipped with the most modern equipment, including thermal imaging equipment and a radar station. A 12.7 mm machine gun is also available to deal with various targets.
It is planned to replace the outdated equipment of previous generations developed in the 70-80 years with a mobile reconnaissance point.
