The Yemeni Houthis have destroyed the second Saudi intelligence-strike drone in a short time. On May 20, Wing Loong II was hit. Three days later, a Chinese-made CH-4B was shot down over the Yemeni province of Al-Jawf.
After the first incident, only video footage taken at the site of the UAV crash was made public. Now the moment of attack is demonstrated.
As last time, the anti-aircraft missile "358" was used, which confidently found a target in the sky. After that, the drone, tumbling, began to fall apart and fall to the ground. At the same time, there were several fairly powerful flashes of flaming fuel reserves.
As is usually the case with the Houthis, the video shown was edited from a recording made through a thermal imaging sighting system, which was supplemented by the shooting of ordinary cameras, including from a place in a mountain-desert area where the wreckage of the drone crashed. When they were discovered, they had already stopped burning.
Judging by the marking, this CH-4B could have been manufactured relatively recently - in March 2020. Representatives of the search group dismantled the elements of the optical-electronic sighting system.
In total, it was estimated that this is the ninth loss of this type of UAV in this region. Also, the Royal Air Force lost four Wing Loong-type vehicles.
What is happening demonstrates that such cheap and relatively simple weapons of destruction as the "358" type missile can be effective against drones.
