Artillery units of the Marine Corps of the Ukrainian Navy plan to purchase 2S22 Bogdana self-propelled guns and Verba M1 multiple rocket launchers.
According to the Defense Express portal, such equipment should arrive by 2025.
Russian experts believe that the announced plans can be regarded as another attempt to reanimate a practical dead project to create a wheeled self-propelled gun with a howitzer of the "NATO" caliber - 155 mm. Currently, all work in this direction is completely frozen, and the ground forces have financed the supply of Czech 152-mm Dana-M2, which are being tested at one of the APU training grounds. It is possible that the first batch of such weapons will be followed by others.
The situation with the MLRS" Verba M1 " seems to be a little better, it has been tested and adopted. In the fall of last year, it was even reported about the beginning of mass production. However, none of the installations have yet reached the troops.
The fact, apparently, is that the combat vehicles were previously installed on the KrAZ-6322 chassis, and the enterprise in Kremenchug went bankrupt and may cease to exist altogether. Therefore, it is possible that Tatra all-terrain vehicles will now be used as a platform, as has already happened with the 9K57 "Hurricane". All this will require new tests and financial costs.
