The latest modular Lebedev MPL pistol and its modification MPL-1, developed by the Kalashnikov Group of companies (part of the Rostec State Corporation), have been adopted by the Federal Service of the National Guard of the Russian Federation (FSVNG).
This was reported to TASS by the general director of "Kalashnikov" Dmitry Tarasov.
"Prototypes of the 9-millimeter Lebedev modular pistol [MPL] and the 9-millimeter Lebedev modular pistol for special tasks [MPL-1], developed within the framework of the RAC "Lynx" according to the tactical and technical task of the FSVNG, were adopted by the customer and transferred to the units of the Rosgvardiya for testing, " Tarasov informed.
According to him, the distinctive feature of the new Lebedev pistols is ergonomics. "The shape and angle of the handle of the pistols provide a comfortable hold of the weapon, the low-placed barrel contributes to less tossing when fired, which allows the user to quickly make repeated shots.
The two-way arrangement of the controls makes it possible to use the weapon with both hands equally effectively, " Tarasov said.
Earlier, both pistols successfully passed state tests.
