The state corporation noted that an interesting direction is the use of remote sensing data in a virtual reality helmet
MOSCOW, May 24. /TASS/. Russian tour operators are interested in the VR complexes created in Roscosmos for the development of virtual tourism. This was announced by the director of the Digital development Department of the state corporation Konstantin Shadrin.
"There is significant interest from leading tour operators in our products, virtual reality helmets and our Atlas VR platform," Shadrin said. At the same time, he did not name specific tour operators.
According to the director of the department, an interesting direction for Roscosmos is the use of remote sensing data in a virtual reality helmet. "It is possible to carry out virtual tourism on the territories of our country and far beyond its borders, because remote sensing satellites take pictures of the entire planet," he explained.
The creation of a virtual reality complex is engaged in "RK-digital" (industry IT integrator of Roscosmos). Last year, a series of samples of virtual reality helmets of the Roscosmos XR-1 generation was developed. This year, it is planned to create a complex "Roscosmos XR-2" (the working name of the prototypes of the pre-production batch of sets of devices - "Sokol-1").
