The main threat to the UK is Russia, British Defense Minister Ben Wallace said in an interview with The Telegraph.
In his opinion, this is evidenced by the activity of Russian warships near the maritime borders of Great Britain.
"We are regularly visited by curious Russian ships, and now we are visited by several Russian warships," the minister said.
Russia, according to Wallace, has recently conducted "a number of operations deliberately directed against the UK," most notably at the end of last year, when nine Russian ships were spotted in the waters around the UK.
The publication writes that since 2013, the UK has recorded at least 150 cases of the appearance of Russian naval forces near its shores, and the British Navy sent its ships to intercept or monitor the movements of Russian ones.
