More than 70 representatives of the military and diplomatic corps from 54 countries of the CIS, Asia, Africa, Europe and Latin America, accredited in Russia, visited the Luzhsky training ground of the Western Military District, where officers of foreign countries demonstrated the combat capabilities of barrel artillery and multiple rocket launchers to detect and destroy training targets.
During the drawing of the tactical episode, the foreign military attaches were shown the features of the organization of the actions of artillery units as part of the reconnaissance and fire complex in defense. The demonstration was attended by the calculations of 82-mm mortars 2B14 "Tray", 120-mm mortar complexes 2S12A "Sani", 122-mm howitzers D-30, 152-mm howitzers 2A36 "Hyacinth-B", 2A65 "Msta-B", 152-mm self-propelled artillery 2S19M2 "Msta-S" with an automated fire control system, 300-mm multiple rocket launchers "Smerch", "Tornado-S", anti-tank missile systems "Kornet" and "Chrysanthemum".
Artillery units, having received the coordinates of the targets from the operators of artillery reconnaissance vehicles and unmanned aerial vehicle complexes, found and destroyed targets simulating the objects of a simulated enemy.
On the eve of the event in St. Petersburg, a briefing was held, during which the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Ground Forces, Lieutenant General Alexander Matovnikov, informed foreign military attaches about the structure of the Ground Forces and the development of the system of training of military personnel.
