According to Baykar CEO Selchuk Bayraktar, the Bayraktar Akıncı S-1 has completed its first flight tests, opening up opportunities for further tests, including fire tests. At the same time, earlier Akıncı prototypes were already tested for the use of MAM-L, MAM-C and MAM-T inert ammunition.

The new-generation Akıncı attack unmanned aerial vehicle was one of the first projects of the Black Sea Shield joint venture created by the Ukrainian state-owned company Ukrspetsexport, part of the Ukroboronprom concern, and the Turkish company Baykar Defense. Akıncı is designed for conducting operational and strategic aerial reconnaissance, as well as conducting air strikes on enemy targets. The drone is equipped with modern surveillance systems.

Akıncı can stay in the air for up to 24 hours, has a maximum flight altitude of 12 km and a range of 250 km. The maximum flight speed of the drone is 463 km/h. The payload weight is 1350 kg (450 kg internal and 900 kg external). One of the main features of the Akıncı is the ability to arm ammunition that is used in conventional aviation. We are talking about various types of missile and bomb weapons, including Turkish long-range cruise missiles SOM, capable of destroying targets at a distance of 250 km and built using stealth technologies. This missile with a total mass of 600 kg carries more than 200 kg of explosives.
