TSAMTO, May 21. Within the framework of the international helicopter industry exhibition HeliRussia 2021, Russian Helicopters Holding (part of Rostec State Corporation) and KrasAvia Airlines signed an agreement of intent for the supply of 10 Mi-8AMT, Mi-8MTV-1 and Ka-62 helicopters.
The first two helicopters will be delivered by the end of this year. All cars will be transferred in stages until 2027.
KrasAvia Airlines operates Mi-8T/AMT/MTV helicopters and various types of aircraft, performing socially significant passenger and cargo transportation in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The company's helicopters also fly out on sanitary missions, carry out shift transportation, participate in fire fighting, patrolling, and search and rescue operations.
"Adding new vehicles to the KrasAvia fleet will help improve the transport accessibility of remote areas in one of the largest regions of Russia, especially in the Far North. KrasAvia will be one of the first operators of the Ka-62 helicopter, and I am sure that these modern machines will add flexibility to the airline in performing aviation operations due to the optimal combination of payload, comfort, safety, range and flight speed, " said Andrey Boginsky, General Director of the Russian Helicopters Holding Company.
The Ka-62 helicopter has a maximum take-off weight of up to 6.8 tons and is designed to carry 15 passengers. For luggage, there is a special compartment in the rear fuselage. It is also possible to transport cargo inside the cab and on an external suspension. It provides for the installation of medical equipment for performing sanitary tasks. A special feature of the helicopter is the extensive use of polymer composite materials in its design, which make up up to 60% of the weight of the aircraft. Another distinctive feature of the Ka-62 is a single-rotor design with a tail rotor in the annular channel of the tail, which is used on helicopters for the first time in Russia. The helicopter is equipped with modern avionics, which allows you to fly in difficult conditions.
The Mi-8AMT and Mi-8MTV-1 are multi – purpose helicopters designed for a wide range of tasks: transporting passengers and cargo, transporting large-sized cargo on an external suspension, conducting search and rescue operations, and evacuating victims.
