PARIS, May 20. /TASS/. The launch of the Soyuz-2.1 b carrier rocket with 36 British OneWeb communications satellites from the Vostochny cosmodrome is scheduled for May 27. This was reported on Thursday in the press service of the French corporation Arianespace.
"The next Arianespace mission from the Vostochny cosmodrome is scheduled for May 27. The Soyuz rocket will deliver 36 satellites to orbit, " the company said in a statement. Thus, as the press service stressed, " the number of OneWeb satellites operating in near-Earth space will reach 218."
Arianespace noted that the launch of the rocket is scheduled for 07: 43 (08:43 Moscow time). "The duration of the mission will be 3 hours and 51 minutes," the corporation added.
Earlier, the press service of Roscosmos reported that 36 OneWeb spacecraft were delivered to the Vostochny cosmodrome in the Amur Region to prepare for launch. OneWeb's low-orbit spacecraft are designed to provide ground-based consumers with high-speed Internet directly via satellite communications.
