The EMERCOM of Russia will have its own design bureau for the development of robotic systems of the future. It sounds loud, but maybe that's not just how it will be on paper. At least, the scientists of the Ministry of Emergency Situations have already signed an agreement with the Central Research Institute of Robotics and Cybernetics on cooperation and very much hope for success.
The Center for the Development of Robotics - and it will be called that-is being created on the platform of the All-Russian Research Institute for Civil Defense and Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia.
Another research Institute of the EMERCOM system will also join the creation of new developments. When asked why the center is being created and why it is based on the Ministry of Emergency Situations, acting head of the Research Institute of Civil Defense Vladimir Moshkov answered directly: the robot fleet is aging, and it is difficult to get new samples and technologies from abroad. This affects both the sanctions and the lack of components in the whole world for the needs of even the countries where these components are produced.
"The creation of the center is due to the need to find new approaches to solving the tasks defined in 2016 by the Concept for the Development of special - purpose robotic complexes in the EMERCOM system of Russia until 2030," said Vladimir Moshkov.
Unfortunately, according to Moshkov, it has not yet been possible to establish effective cooperation with domestic development institutions and some relevant departments. On the other hand, there is a bad experience in creating robots and unmanned vehicles that are extremely necessary for rescuers to work in emergency mines.
