Moscow. May 19. INTERFAX-Rosoboronexport will promote an upgraded version of the Ka-52 helicopter to the international market, said the head of the company, Alexander Mikheev.
"In the near future, we and our foreign partners expect to launch an upgraded version of the Ka-52 on the foreign market, which is currently being worked on in JSC Russian Helicopters," said Mikheev, whose words were quoted in the press service of Rosoboronexport on Wednesday.
The head of Rosoboronexport said that over the past 10 years, the company has delivered more than 850 helicopters to foreign customers worth about $20 billion.
Rosoboronkesport reported that during the HeliRussia 2021 exhibition, the company will offer its partners, as well as potential new customers, Russian helicopters for solving a wide range of tasks in various physical, geographical and climatic conditions. At the Rosoboronexport stand, visitors will be able to get acquainted with models of the Mi-35M transport and combat helicopter and the Mi-17V-5 military transport helicopter.
"Due to its combat and operational characteristics, the Mi-17V-5 is currently the most massive of the Russian military helicopters delivered abroad over the past decade. Since 2010, Rosoboronexport has handed over more than 270 of these vehicles to foreign customers, " Mikheev said.
The Ka-52 Alligator has been mass-produced for the needs of the Russian Ministry of Defense since 2010. The helicopter is designed to destroy tanks, armored and unarmored military equipment, manpower, helicopters and other enemy aircraft on the front line and in tactical depth, in all weather conditions and at any time of the day. The Ka-52 is armed with Ataka and Vikhr-1 guided missiles, S-8 unguided missiles, the Strelet missile system and a 30-mm aviation cannon; the total combat load is 2 tons.
