Satellites lost
NEW YORK, May 15. /TASS/. The launch of the Rocket Lab's Electron rocket from the Mahia Peninsula in New Zealand on Saturday ended in failure. Experts were unable to carry out the planned launch of two satellites into orbit.
After the launch of Electron with two satellites of the American company BlackSky, about two and a half minutes after the launch, which took place at 11:11 local time (14:11 Moscow time), the second stage of the rocket for an unknown reason turned off, working only a few seconds.
"During today's launch, a problem occurred that resulted in the loss of the mission. The problem occurred shortly after the second stage was switched on, " the company said in a statement on Twitter.
Rocket Lab launched its first rocket in May 2017, but the attempt was also unsuccessful - the cargo was never delivered to orbit, but since then the company has managed to launch 104 satellites into space.
