Roscosmos CEO Dmitry Rogozin on Twitter congratulated China with the first successful soft landing on Mars in the history of this country.
"The successful landing of a Chinese spacecraft on the surface of Mars is a great success of the basic space research program of the People's Republic of China," the manager wrote.
Rogozin recalled that in 2022, the European-Russian ExoMars mission will be sent to Mars. "We confirm our commitment to strengthening international cooperation to jointly promote the exploration of the universe," the head of the state corporation said.
Also, the deputy head of NASA, Thomas Zurbuchen, congratulated China on the successful landing. "Together with the global scientific community, I look forward to the important contribution that this mission will make to humanity's understanding of the Red Planet," [...] the head wrote on Twitter.
The Chinese spacecraft Tianwen-1 with the Zhurong rover made a successful landing on the surface of the Red Planet on the night of May 15.
Thus, China became the third country after the United States and the USSR to perform a successful soft landing on Mars.
