Moscow. May 10. INTERFAX-The American interplanetary station OSIRIS-REx successfully turned on the engines for the subsequent exit from the orbit of the asteroid Bennu to return to Earth, the space operation was broadcast by NASA.
The device started the engines at 23: 25 Moscow time.
OSIRIS-REx traveled to the asteroid Benn, located 333 million km from Earth, on September 8, 2016, to collect a soil sample and deliver it to earth for study.
The spacecraft entered the asteroid's orbit in December 2018, and collected the valuable soil sample necessary for the study in October 2020.
