Washington. May 4. INTERFAX-Two more US Air Force B-52H Stratofortress strategic bombers have arrived in Qatar, their total number there has reached six units, according to monitoring of Western aviation resources.
Earlier, the Central Command of the US Armed Forces (CENTCOM) reported that four B-52H Stratofortress strategic bombers arrived at the Al-Udeid air base in Qatar at the end of April, which will participate in the operation to cover the beginning of the withdrawal of US troops and coalition forces from Afghanistan.
According to reports, an additional pair of B-52H Stratofortresses has been sent to Qatar from the 5th Bombardment Wing from Minot Base, North Dakota.
After a transatlantic flight, they passed over the countries of Eastern Europe-Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, as well as Greece, and then over the Mediterranean Sea turned towards the Middle East. There, their flight route took them over Israel, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the Persian Gulf southwest of Iran, and Qatar.
There is no official report from the US Air Force on the transfer of the next two American strategic bombers to Qatar yet.
